Escher research

Here are some of Escher's paintings that I found interesting.

I found this one interesting because it is like the audience are looking in the mind of the painter through a crystal ball. This is simular to the audience looking into Claudio's mind.
This could represent the slightly eccentric Hotel di Colpa.
The different levels in the picture could represent the different parts of Claudio's mind.
How Claudio feels without Hero.

  1. 'The different levels in the picture could represent the different parts of Claudio's mind.' I love this idea! :) perhaps we could develop it so that with each room we visit, it begins to get more surreal and out of proportion. This could represent the ways in which his post traumatic stress or mental illness is developing... or maybe his guilt? its getting out of control and the more he panics or thinks about Hero the deeper his condition becomes?

  2. ooh and also with the crystal ball- this could show how Hero is manipulating and controlling Claudio's mind! Because she is the reason and motivation behind Claudios suicide! *light bulb moment*
